Integrated Performance Marketing Manager



The Integrated Performance Marketing Manager will be responsible for strategizing and managing (mainly) digital Performance Marketing and media campaigns with a focus on key European markets and channels. Helping BISSELL grow its market share by using digital ecosystems and media to drive sales across retailers, as well our direct-to-consumer platform, which is a key strategic ambition.

Key media activations to plan together with our agency partners include, but are not limited to, (digital) TV, digital display, SEA, and Paid Social. The planning of all media activities needs to be done in an integrated approach, together with the Amazon campaign (AMG) manager as well as linking any digital media with above-the-line media, within an integrated journey and ecosystem.

This person will liaise closely with the other media expert(s) and agencies as well as with the MarCom Lead, eCom, D2C and Sales managers to create campaigns that serve the overall Sales and Marketing objectives across the full consumer decision journey.

The Manager will also be responsible for establishing and running an integrated optimization process to increase campaign performance on a weekly basis.

Besides this, connecting learnings and best practice activations across channels and markets and creating insights and optimizations based on data and consumer behavior are part of the role.

Further, exchanging insights with the US Digital Team as well as other regions (e.g. China, MEA) will support an increased global learning.

Beyond a data- and performance-driven outlook, this person also shows how Creative fuels performance, by proactively proposing and working with the MarCom Manager on content that performs well, can be tested and optimized. The Manager will have direct accountability for digital Performance Marketing KPI’s and delivering strong ROAS figures that accelerate the business growth in our core category Wet cleaning and beyond. 

The Manager will report into the MarCom Lead EU and have one direct report (planned to be recruited as of Q4 2021) supporting them in activating the Performance Marketing strategy and plans across markets, preferably in scrum-style.


  • Define and execute performance marketing strategy and KPIs for digital media activations in an integrated media approach, to drive business impact for direct-to-consumer business as well as considering Amazon and (e)retail business.
  • Develop and lead PM plans for key markets, addressing all relevant digital media touchpoints in the journey to grow awareness amongst target audience, increase conversion rate, and overall ROAS.
  • Manage bi-weekly optimization process across the full activation journey to increase progressively campaign ROI.
  • Working across multiple areas of activation including, prospecting, engage, retargeting and conversion and acquisition (PERC model)
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify and plan for media and content enhancements, digital campaigns, promotional initiatives, merchandizing strategies, test & learn activities, content updates etc. Create, maintain and socialize initiative roadmaps to align teams, timing, budget and prioritize resource.
  • Managing our agency partners to unlock their full potential to contribute to the brand and business objectives in the most effective and efficient way
  • Manages Media Marketing budget.
  • Collaborate and align with Core Digital managers on strategic plans, digital performance and leveraging digital channels and teams to drive growth.
  • Define a ‘Learning Agenda’ to prioritize and execute test and learn opportunities around key business questions through the use of content and digital performance Marketing.
  • Define process for continuous A/B testing and optimization of primary digital acquisition channels, inclusive of website and landing page optimization in alignment with the Digital Manager (eCom team)
  • Lead and enhance a best practice for sharing integrated campaign data and dashboards, bringing data to insights and actions.
  • Provide digital thought leadership through a thorough knowledge of the media and digital landscape
  • Work closely with product marketing and trade marketing to create proposition-led and 360-led activations of product hero campaigns online and offline
  • Lead and manage multiple projects having accountability for meeting project success criteria, milestones, and Marketing objectives.

  • Degree minimum: Bachelor / Master
  • Experience level:
    At least 5-8 years marketing experience with digital strategy, setting up, managing and executing digital first campaigns that connect content and media in social, search display across the consumer decision journey to drive business impact. Strong experience optimization processes to progressively increase campaign ROI
