As an Associate Director Commercial Excellence BISSELL International you will be responsible for driving Commercial Excellence, the Commercial Policy and Pricing strategy to execution. You define the required processes and supporting systems in BISSELL International business. You will be helping the BISSELL International Leadership team and the different commercial teams to optimize their sales efforts and maximize value extraction for our Business and Business Partners.

You bring Pricing in BISSELL International markets to a higher level, by acting as a linking pin between the Business, the Markets and our commercial partners. You will be challenged to use both your analytical and abstract thinking skills as well as convincing communication skills to get a diverse group of stakeholders on board and into the set direction. You will think strategically but are also able to translate this into concrete actions to really drive change.


  • Define with the Commercial Teams and Downstream Business Marketing Managers in the markets the distribution strategy and Portfolio Channelization strategy
  • Creates the Commercial Policy and Pay-for-Performance Framework, implementation roadmap and brings this to execution with the commercial teams. Implements the required systems and control points to ensure compliance to the framework
  • Ensure full implementation Commercial & Pricing Policy elements and performance management for the markets within assigned geographic scope
  • Facilitate building pricing capabilities inside the organizations through trainings, mentoring and coaching to ensure required maturity and capability level of our business- and local market organizations
  • Constructively challenge customer agreements and trade investment plans to ensure customer terms & conditions are negotiated within CPP guidance and reflect strategic fit & expected counter performance
  • Analyze pricing Key Performance Indicators and acts as a consultant towards Businesses and Markets (within scope) to drive continuous pricing and profitability performance improvement through continuous visibility
  • Act as role model for compliance and BISSELL Behaviors

 Your team:

you are part of the BISSELL International Leadership team and build over time a team of Commercial Policy Managers to drive implementation across Markets, starting with Europe.

This position:

Includes cross-functional interactions, decision-making, and exposure to senior management in both the business and the different international markets. You are primarily based in the BISSELL Amsterdam headquarters and you will be directly reporting to the VP International. 

Result Areas

  • Implements a Commercial Policy and Pay-for Performance Framework in International Markets. Starting with Europe
  • Consolidated Distribution and Channelization strategy to support the Commercial Policy and driving Value Extraction for our Business and partners
  • Builds a pay-for-performance commercial Policy roadmap and implements this
  • Continuous improves and optimizes the approach to reduce Value leakage and maximized value extraction in the BISSELL International Markets
  • Builds the required processes, Implements the required Management and reporting systems and builds organizational capabilities

What We Require

  • Minimal Bachelors degree (in business administration, economics or finance)
  • 10 years + of relevant business experience in project management, pricing, commercial or finance role. Of which at least >5 years in Pricing & Commercial Policy Driving roles, preferably in consumer goods industry
  • Leadership skills, able to operate in dynamic and hands-on environment with high interaction levels and wide array of stakeholders (cross-functional, cross-layer)
  • Level of problem solving: innovate. Solves complex, abstract issues for own focus area, for which context thinking and vision are necessary. Anticipates and acts on changing demands in the environment. Can influence and engage people for changes in own focus area.
  • Strong communication and influential skills in international matrix setting, fluent in English
  • Persuasive, analytical, hands on mentality, authority, stress resistant with proven project management skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset and is a front runner in data driven decision making. Hands-on self-starter, gets things done.
  • Can-do mindset and entrepreneurial.
  • Commercial Savvy and has courage.
  • Adaptability to talk/manage different levels of audiences and ability to work in multi-cultural and international business environments
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and preferably SAP knowledge
  • Previous exposure to Business-2-Consumer / Retail is a plus
